Sara Helwe has done it again. She has designed a beyond amazing cover, rich and full of beauty. (She has also designed a cover for Zombie Takeover, which I have yet to show you because of my quest to be traditionally published. More on that later…)
My only question for you is, blue or gold?
I am deliriously happy with both and would use either. (In fact, I wish I could use both…) ;)
I think the covers speak for themselves. Now I want to hear from YOU!
Can you see why I’m having such a hard time with this?
What are your thoughts? Blue or gold? And why? :)

I prefer the gold. Maybe the sun caught my eye. It feels more uplifting to me.
Michele
Thank you so much!
Emileigh Diana Latham
I like the gold version because it looks more intense and alluring.
Michele
Thank you, Emileigh!!
Susan Donetti
I prefer the gold, although I miss the castle on that cover. The blue looks sweeter to me. Like a soft and gentle romance. And I don’t get the idea that’s what you’re looking for. I also think the gold highlights both sisters and the blue draws my eye to the white winged one while pushing the black winged sister into the background. So, it’s gold for my vote. :)
Michele
Thank you, Susan! I love your reasoning behind why you picked the gold. Thank you so much! :)
Rebecca LuElla Miller
Gold. That one caught my eye immediately.

Thank you!

Both are beautiful, but I prefer the gold. I like the clouds of danger, but the sun showing through depicts hope. It also stands out better.
Michele
I love how you described that! Thank you! :)
Kimberli
Both are beautiful, but my eyes are drawn to the suspenseful look of the gold.
Michele
Thank you so much! :)
AJ Cattapan
I’m a little partial to the blue, but if you look at the cover of my YA book Angelhood, you’ll know why. It’s actual kind of similar to yours. Ha!
Michele
Now I’m intrigued! I’ll have to look that up right away. :) Thank you so much!
Valerie
There’s a blue group? i guess that would be me. Partly because i ALWAYS prefer blue, but also because i love the heavenly mansion on the upper right. (That is what is is, right?) But it sounds like the cover will be gold, and that’s good too.
Michele
Thank you, Valerie! Honestly, I think I prefer the blue as well, but then I go right back to adoring the gold. :) Such a hard decision! And yes, that’s a heavenly mansion/castle. :) Thank you so much for letting me know which you would choose!
Joyce Long
I’m joining the gold group because it seems to grab you by its rich depth of passion.
Michele
How lovely! It’s true, I definitely want the cover to grab my reader’s attention! :)
Julie
Both are beautiful! If I had to pick, I’d pick gold. I feel like it adds proper balance to the contrasting characters and title, the blue to me highlights more just the angelic character and the idea of wisdom
Michele
I love how you worded that! It really puts the covers in perspective. It looks like the gold is winning hands down. ;)
Jerry Callison
I prefer gold. Both are lovely, but the blue looks soft and weak, whereas the gold is stronger and bolder. If i were to glance over them in a bookstore I would probably pass over the blue cover just because it is not striking enough to catch my interest.
Michele
Jerry, you have been such an encouragement to me! Thank you for following the progression of Wisdom & Folly and cheering me on along the way! :) I see what you mean about the gold grabbing one’s attention. Thank you for your “vote”! :)
Barbie
I like gold. It’s got warmth to it. But that’s because I’m currently in a warm mood. Both are beautiful. But I guess if I see a cover as warm, I would expect the story to be warm. If I saw the cover as blue or cold, I get a chill feeling. And since most of us actually do judge books by their covers, I guess whatever color would capture the essence of the story would be perfect.
And…where can I get this book?
Michele
That makes sense. Since my readers have said the story is intense, maybe the gold is the better choice! :) I will let you know the moment I have a release date!!! :)

I’m no help. I’m leaning slightly toward the gold for absolutely no discernible reason.
Michele
Lol! I completely understand! (And I keep doing the same thing, only I’m going back and forth.) :) Thank you so much!
